What if the Americas had been settled during the Dark Ages?
In American Kingdoms, American history is re-imagined as an Arthurian medieval epic – an age defined not by musket and cannon, but by knightly honor and courtly intrigue. This alt-history project is a collaborative worldbuilding effort. American Kingdoms is being produced by Kaiser Cat Cinema: A collective of content creators, history enthusiasts and contributors across a wiki and various social media channels.

The year is 1497. Twenty years ago, the Outremer Kingdoms of the East Coast rebelled against their British overlords, pushing the perfidious Redcloaks from the continent. In their place, the Thirteen Realms united in a Union of equals – a Holy American Empire where the High King himself would be elected and raised from among his peers.
But two decades have passed since that day, and the old glories are quickly forgotten. Every day, the bonds holding the Union together grow weaker. Ambitious lords seek to steer their own course in the Americas – and the European empires, old enemies, are never far away…

In this medieval American world, who would your forebears be? A court of Southern Gallants? Fierce Vinlandian vikings? A Free Company, loyal only to the dream of liberty? Or perhaps they would swear loyalty to the Old World, and plot to overthrow the independent American Kings?
Any contributor is allowed to add his own fiefdom and characters to the world of American Kingdoms by using our wiki. Additionally, we host writing contests and other collaborative events. You can also support the project financially by backing our team on Patreon, or buying some American Kingdoms art prints from our webshop.

American Kingdoms is a cross-media project produced by the Kaiser Cat Cinema collective: A group of alt-history content creators, borne from the modding scene of the early 2000’s and united in their passion of the alt-history genre.
Since our founding in 2016, our focus has been building alt-history worlds through crowdfunding and crossmedia content creation. Our projects include music covers, animations, youtube videos, and even live action short film set in the great ‘what if’ scenarios of the alt-history genre.
